Delhi to vrindavan

It was a short trip that I wanted to make for a long time.It had eluded me for many days but I finally had the time and opportunity to see Vrindavan.A place where Lord Krishna played with gopis and enjoyed the company of his friends.

It was decided that I would be driving my car in the night from Delhi to Vrindavan.Although I had never driven the car at night but I had to agree. My brother-in-law was driving the other car and I was following him.We had to reach the ISKON temple at Vrindavan at 5.00 am in the morning to attend the morning prayers.I drived fast but I was not able match up to my brother-in-law car speed. He stopped the car and told me"Bhaiya, you are driving very nicely but we need to get down to Vrindavan at 5am in the morning". He asked me to step aside and his friend reached for the driver
seat.He was really good at the wheels. He zoomed past the bussling traffic like a hot knife in butter.I was sitting on the front seat of the car.I felt sleepy and I tried my best not to fall asleep but I woke up when we had reached the gates of ISKON temple also known as Krishna balaram temple.

It was a old temple but a beautiful one.As we entered the gates a huge gathering was singing praise for Lord Krishna. The chants of Hare Rama Hare Krishna were filling the divine atmosphere.Children wearing yellow robes with shaven heads were dressed neatly and were thoroughly enjoying the moment.A englishmen was performing the puja at the temple and giving instructions to the crowd. The atmosphere was serene and calm and puja was performed for half an hour along with bhajans.

After the puja we were asked to come to a separate room where a Guru was delivering lecture on what constituted the teachings of Lord Krishna. It was a beautiful session but we had to go to our next destination-The Banke Bihari temple. We took permission from Guruji and left for Banke Bihari temple.
The traffic in Vrindavan was chaotic. There was no place for parking in that area.We had to go to a far off place to park our vehicle. We walked the distance to Banke Bihari on foot. There were so many shops of mithai, religious music shops, pan shops and cloth market along the way.We reached the temple along with hundreds of devotees. The crowd was swarming around the entrance of the temple. The street which led to the temple was very narrow and we had to make our way through the crowd. The place was filled with devotees with everyone pushing each other. The prasada which we had taken from outside shop was to be delivered to the priest but there was so much rush that we could not reach them.We stood in one corner of the temple and prayed to Lord Krishna from distance. If the place was better managed all the devotees could have had a better darshan.Never mind we ate prasada offered by a fellow devotee and prayed to Krishna. We came out of the temple and went for some shopping for our relatives from thereon.
